It began simply: with one room in the architect's studio on Republic Street. No chain-hotel formula. No compromise on quality. Just beautiful spaces at a price that doesn't require a special occasion.
Chris Briffa is one of Malta's most respected architects, responsible for some of Valletta's most admired historic conversions. Valletta Vintage began not as a business plan but as a personal project — a way to share the city he loves through spaces he designed himself.
Together with Hanna, Chris sources and curates every piece in the apartments: chairs, lamps, artworks, ceramics. Nothing is generic. Return for a second visit and things will have changed — for Chris, the collection is never quite finished.
Chris moves the studio to Republic Street. Its top floor becomes GALLERY — the first room.
RETRO PAD joins — restored mid-century pieces, tucked under the architect's home.
The practice moves to Casa Bottega. ATELIER and LIBRARY join GALLERY — the building becomes ALTANA.
DOMA — the family home — opens its doors to guests for the first time.
SCALA and its five apartments mark ten years of Valletta Vintage.
